Hello, welcome to Buday + Kruzel Architects.

Our practice is based in Harbor Springs, Michigan, however we enjoy working throughout Michigan (places like Charlevoix, Cheboygan, St. Ignace, Marquette, Petoskey, Indian River, Cross Village, Mackinaw City, Grayling and Good Hart).  Though most of our projects are in Northern Michigan, many of our clients live somewhere else.  Working together long distance is easier than you think, technology like GoToMeeting helps us collaborate.

As architects we have worked on a broad range of projects, both private and civic: schools, restaurants, dining halls, performance pavilions, mercantile, mixed-use projects, pools (natatoriums), offices, medical offices, libraries, breweries and municipal buildings.   As you can see in our portfolio, we also do a tremendous number of residential projects: additions, renovations and new construction (traditional, craftsman, cottage, modern, etc.).

We work in a software program called ArchiCAD to create 3D virtual models for clients.  Using this program during the design process helps to understand the building and spaces before it gets built.  It also makes construction easier and eliminates some of the mistakes that happened with some of the older software (2D) and even older technology (pen and paper) some offices still use.
We are members of the AIA (The American Institute of Architects), the NMCOA (Northern Michigan Code Officials Association), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce and the Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Mark serves on the City of Harbor Springs Planning Commission.  Michelle Kruzel is a Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce Board Member as well as an alternate member of the City of Harbor Springs Zoning Board of Appeals.
We have been designing residences, lake houses, and Northern Michigan cottages for 25 years.   From turn-of-the-century architecture to modern, we’d love an opportunity to work with you on yours.
